We’ve all been there… sweaty palms and butterflies in the stomach. Being interviewed by a prospective employer can be very nerve-wracking! You can cut down on the jitters by being prepared. I’m here today with Beth Taska, the CHRO at 24 Hour Fitness, to discuss the top three tips for succeeding in a job interview.

First, tell a personal story. Practice the story ahead of time so you can be sure it is no longer than two minutes. It needs to have a level of vulnerability and authenticity… talk about a time in your life that you’ve overcome something and learned from it. Second, prepare your answers ahead of time. All interviews generally consist of the same questions, so think about your answers and have a plan for any question that comes your way. Last, and possibly most important, be OK with whatever happens in the interview. If it doesn’t work out, it just doesn’t. There’s always next time!

So in review, the top three tips to ace any job interview are to tell a story, be prepared for the questions, and be OK with the outcome of interview. Thanks, Beth!
