Business — Personnel

No matter what the situation, never allow emotions to overpower intelligence.⁣

In business, It’s quite easy to make decisions based on emotions. However, the fact is facts and subconsciously you will always know what the right choice is, even if you go with emotions.⁣

Let me explain when operating an organization the senior management must make decisions based upon multiple facts and ultimately based upon protecting the brand and its values.⁣

This includes brand reputation.⁣

For example: In the past, very occasionally I have come across team members stealing money from the business.⁣

Unacceptable? Of course it is. I try to understand why any member of any team would do such a thing.⁣

Financial problems such as debt, pressure to pay etc etc might affect the ability to make correct decisions. In other occasions it’s just greed.⁣

Giving a second chance in this type of instance is a decision based only on trust. ⁣

Why would give a second chance? Maybe because you feel this was a genuinely a mistake the team member made out of pressure and will not affect peers or clients and the company reputation. ⁣

If a team member makes a mistake which not only affects the reputation of the company but the reputation of its entire team, the customer experience for the clients it serves and is morally wrong then there is never any sort of justification or discussion left other than to remove such people from the team immediately.⁣

Some business decisions can be difficult for management to take others are easy. Some companies are only concerned with revenue, others care for its team, clients and reputation.⁣

Ultimately, when taking such decisions always remember, you are setting an example on what you accept.⁣

Now, this post is not only for business owners or senior management. This post is also for team members of any organisation.⁣

If you steal you’re known as thief.⁣

If you don’t respect company values, your team and your clients then you don’t deserve to be there. ⁣

One tip, be genuine and be a good human. You will be fine.⁣
