#StreetOP — “Love Changes A Lot Of Things”
StreetOP is a video series that searches for genuine unfiltered perspective, reflections, and opinions of people from Arab world living through the events that shape their region.
In our latest episode of #StreetOP we travel to Bechmezzine, a small town in northern Lebanon, where we speak to a young Lebanese woman named Claire about what the perfect Lebanon would look like, her thoughts on whats happening just a few miles away in Syria, and how the best stories are always the ones you can’t tell your parents….
TRANSCRIPT:
What funny/weird story happened with you?
I know that you guys have stories to tell every other day, with friends and outings..
You’re life is filled with weird events..
CLAIRE: The most interesting ones are when you go somewhere and don’t tell you’re parents or when something happens with you when you are on the road.
How do you imagine a perfect world?
CLAIRE: Most importantly is for people to love each other. To really love each other without thinking of their benefits but with logic.
What is a perfect Middle East like for you? And a perfect Lebanon?
CLAIRE: To love each other
When you love people you know how to deal with each other respectfully. You’ll accept them as they are. Love changes a lot of things.
Do you feel that these events will take us to a better place than where we are now? Is this bad in your opinion?
CLAIRE: In Syria, it is very bad because a lot of people are getting hurt, many are dying and those people will not be replaced. If they want change they can changes in a different way. There’s dialogue, I don’t know anything but it’s a shame that those people are dying, and they’re irreplaceable.
If you could give an advice to the next generation, what would it be?
CLAIRE: To also love each other
