Accepting This Simple Fact Will Make Your Life Easier

Last night after achieving my 10,000 step goal, I plopped on the couch, glass of wine in hand, ready to scroll through You Tube.

As I scrolled I noticed the titles I grativated towards.

I lost 18 pounds of fat in 2 months.

How I changed my body in 6 weeks.

Each one of these videos focused on achieving something quickly. And subconsciously, I clicked because I wanted quick achievement as well.

I’ve gained and lost weight most of my life. I’ve worked hard in Jiu Jitsu to achieve a blue belt. While I know the value of hard work, I was drawn to these videos because they made it seem easy to achieve something quickly.

We are aware it takes time and consistency to see results in anything. It takes time to see results with weight loss. It takes time to see results when you’re learning something new.

There are no quick fixes in life.

This isn’t profound news. We know this fact and we know it well. We know everything takes time.

And yet we’re constantly looking for a quick fix.

We’re constantly looking for a quick way to lose weight. We’re constantly starting and stoppings things because we don’t see immediate…
