After the farewell song, sung by over 8,000 Boy Scouts, JamCam 2020 came to an end. The tarpaulin city built on land next to the International Convention Center began dismantling on Saturday morning and many of the participants began returning to their homes in more than 20 countries and hundreds of cities in different states of Brazil.

Held in the city of Foz do Iguaçu between January 5 and 10, the 16th Inter-American Jamboree Scout and the 3rd Inter-American Camporee Scout had impressive numbers: more than 8,000 people camped in an area of 320,000 square meters. JamCam 2020 is estimated to have injected more than $ 10 million into the local economy.

For Rafael Macedo, CEO of the Boy Scouts of Brazil, the event ends with a positive balance: “Seeing the joy of young people and the sense of accomplishment of volunteer adults gives us the certainty that we have made a brilliant camp,” says Macedo.

During the five days of camp, participants were able to get to know local attractions, such as the Bird Park and the Iguazu Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, as well as various activity modules throughout the city.

With the closure of this edition, the eyes turn to 2023, when the camp will take place in West Virginia, United States of America. Events take place every four years, always in a different country.
