Did you know the fight against HIV is set to die and the Pope strongly opposes same-sex civil marriage?

If you only scan headlines or go with popular opinion, you’d probably not hear that. But I don’t write to go with the zeitgeist. I’ve dug deep this week to bring you three critical stories lots of people don’t want to read. I dare you to take a look!

Trump’s Racist Assault on Obamacare Could Destroy HIV Progress

Everybody knows if Amy Coney Barrett helps the Supreme Court strike down the Affordable Care Act, millions of middle-class people lose access to health care. Almost nobody knows Anthony Fauci’s lifetime HIV work would be dead in the water. We need to raise the roof!

Texas Lets Social Workers Ditch LGBTQ Clients

Speaking of Judge Barrett, with her on the court, LGBTQ people will sit in the crosshairs of hatred and bigotry with little hope of protection from the justice system. Just look what Evangelical politicians are doing in Texas. It’s almost too evil to believe. Only it’s really happening.

Pope’s Call for Gay Civil Unions: More Propaganda than Progress

People don’t want to hear this, but it’s true. Pope Francis’s much ballyhooed quote in a film last week was NOT good news. I got shouted down when I first explained why, but now columnists for The Hill and Out Magazine are echoing me. The Pope was actually asserting the right of the Catholic Church to work against real civil marriage for LGBTQ people where the Church wields political power.
