Looks like Google, Searches like Bing, Plants trees as a charity.

Browsing the web for 2 days was enough to give a month of free water. How is this possible?

The chrome extension Ecosia help do this by placing ads on the Ecosia search engine and the new tab page.

When you first download Ecosia, it blends into your search experience seamlessly.

Like Google, Ecosia lets you search while you browse.

It works as its own search engine, placing ads on it like Google.

80% of the profits go to planting trees, and the rest goes to Ecosia to let them make your experience even better.

The great thing about this is that instead of ad money going to big corporations, it goes to nonprofits that you care about.

Tab for a Cause

Next, there is Tab for a Cause※. Tab for a Cause※ changes your chrome://newtab to a beautiful new tab page where you can add widgets, and a search bar that searches Ecosia.

Because of non-intrusive ads in the corner of the page, every time you open a new tab it adds a heart to your heart count.

When you want to help out the world, you can donate your hearts to a nonprofit organization. These hearts equal the value of the ads on your new tab page.

List of nonprofit organizations you can donate to.

You can even join groups, and help the world with friends. (Join my group, if you want to help out※)

The money counter is ticking up. Can you help?

Amazon Smile

If you also want to help in a smaller way, download the Smile Always chrome extension.

Amazon has this cool program called Amazon Smile. When you use it, Amazon donates .5% of every purchase to a charity that you choose.

Using the Smile Always chrome extension, every amazon.com link will automatically change into a smile.amazon.com link.

Charity Miner

You might have heard of the concept of “bitcoin mining” or “cryptocurrency”. This is the process of using a computer’s processing power to earn money. The chrome extension Charity Miner helps this happen by mining the cryptocurrency Monero with your computer’s extra processing power. All of the money earned goes to the charity Charity Water. Just a fair warning that your computer might run a little hotter or louder with this extension installed.
