The Red Sea

Hurgada, Egypt

In early June of 2014, I was able to spend some time in Egypt. While I was not able to see the ancient city of Thebes or the pyramids at Giza, the diving off the coast of Hurgada is a gem that Egypt holds beneath the surface. While Aqaba, Jordan has one of the best wrecks I have been able to explore, Egypt by far had the most spectacular coral formations I have ever seen.

One interesting aspect of underwater photography is that often times the photographs (when using a strobe and/or shooting in RAW) show a more vibrant world than you actually see during the dive because of the loss of red light underwater.
