I’m a hands-on designer, strategic thinker and creative leader, designing inspiring and engaging experiences and driving them to implementation. I pride myself in a deep knowledge of the customer and a passion for simple, elegant experiences.

I love mentoring and help to develop young talent, honing their skills through the process of developing their critical thinking, refining their skills and making sure they are empowered and creatively engaged in their work.

I love to influence from within. I’m a pragmatic prioritiser, I cut through the politics and ownership debates, I love to engage stakeholders and understand their perspectives, helping to enable their success.

I am driven by a need to improve experiences for everyone, wherever possible. I aim to ruthlessly attack friction at every point, within internal teams and customer experiences.


Experience

Lead Designer for Patterns & Platforms

eBay; 2015 — Present

Responsible for leading a team of designers in the creation and development of design patterns and principles, to create an aligned and coherent design system for us across the customer experience, across multiple platforms.

I lead a team of six designers, managing agile planning and prioritisation, leading design critiques, mentoring the designers by developing their critical thinking, helping them to craft their design, documentation and presentation skills.

I liaise with stakeholders across the business to support their needs and drive a high-quality implementation, across multiple domains. We extensively collaborate with partners across multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality deliverables that many others can leverage.


Lead Designer for Personalization

eBay; 2014 - 2015

Responsible for the research, ideation and exploration of how personalisation should be presented across the eBay experience. I led an ethnographic research and discovery effort, to understand how users were inspired, find and buy products relating to their passions.

We championed the efforts to creating seamless personal experiences based on your tastes and preferences, that help you continue your shopping missions across all user devices and touch points. Developing solutions that build a personal connection with your passions through the things you shop for both entertainment and need.


Lead designer for Mobile Experience

eBay; 2011 - 2014

Responsible for leading the design of eBay mobile products, including extensive user research and ideation into how users search and understand a product offering.

I led the development of a holistic search experience that helps users of all experience levels prioritize the controls to help them refine their search journey.

I also led the holistic multiscreen redesign of the product page across all our mobile platforms, that helped deliver a simpler, easier to digest product experience, delivering a 5% lift in conversion across all platforms.


Head of Design, Online

Conde Nast; 2009 - 2011

Lead designer for the development of all online brands including Vogue.com, Conde Nast Traveller, GQ & Glamour. Responsible for the development of the information architecture, wireframes and visual design for the brand sites, plus management of four designers working editorial & commercial projects, designing co-branded microsites or advertising for the Conde Nast properties.
