Jamfest is a new African media and information festival directed at a diverse set of African media makers and media publics. The inaugural Jamfest Joburg edition will take place from 18–20 March 2020, at Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, Braamfontein, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The festival will showcase new content styles and approaches, new audiences and great innovations in delivery. It aims to track trends in information flows and digital public space across the continent and provide opportunities for dynamic engagement between diverse stakeholders.

The festival will be the start of building a diverse community of media-makers and engaging a new public. This will encourage the development of innovations we need to grow and provide the resilience we need to thrive in these turbulent times.

You can expect a dynamic 3-day programme which will include:

  • All-day Exhibitions
Exhibitions of African Civic tech and digital media bright stars
  • Digital Masterclasses
Civic tech and digital media innovation masterclasses
  • Networking opportunities and social activities
