I Ran the NYC Marathon and I Need You to Know That
Because if you don’t what was it all for?
If you’ve been watching my bi-daily vlogs, you may know that I, a 25-year-old Deloitte intern, have spent the last two years preparing for the NYC Marathon. I’m writing this lengthy paragraph on Instagram to express how thankful I am for the support my friends and family have shown me. More importantly, however, I’m writing this to make the people who called me fat in high school feel bad about themselves.
I guess you could say my mornings have been a teensy bit different than yours. I start each day by chugging a terrible-tasting energy drink that the FDA has described as “heart attack-inducing.” Only then do I have the energy to lace up my $200 pair of HOKAs and jog (for running newbies, this is like sprinting but a bit slower) out the door.
Oh, and what were you up to? You were probably still stuck in bed, doing what? Enjoying a slow morning with your beautiful wife? Kissing her forehead while the two of you sip coffee in comfortable silence earned only after years of marriage? I hate to say this, but learn some damn discipline!
