We are the trees, Truffulas if you please.
Our words are the rustling you hear in the breeze.
We’ve tried to speak for ages but our words couldn’t break through.
Now with social media we can finally say something to you.

We are the trees and we speak for the trees.
The Lorax and those like him don’t speak for our needs.
For no matter how much they claim to support our mission,
it means nothing at all if they don’t even listen.

The Lorax seemed a very generous fellow
but he is a Lorax, small, loud, and yellow.
He does not know what it is like to be a tree
and he should speak for himself, not you or me

Please understand we do not wish to seem snobby
but defending the trees isn’t a hobby
to be forgotten after a season or two.
Do you remember his crusade for the Mindeliloo?

Of course you don’t, for that was just a fad,
though he made all his less vocal friends feel bad
for not posting as much or…
