Kindred Kindness

Sometimes I find myself shying away from sharing my faith, thinking it’s hopeless and that I’m not worthy (which I’m not but Jesus is).

Tumefied communities frantically hustle through the day, occupied with indulging themselves.

Oh how I’m indebted to the kindred hearts which God has so graciously installed in my life. They affectionately seized the TIME (one of thee most precious gifts) to cultivate a relationship through the art of genuine conversation.

People were not created as TIME slots to be filled or penciled into someone’s busy schedule.

It’s a piece of heaven when that kindred spirit embraces a one on one conversation about life, God, dreams, or endeavoring to solving impossible problems through listening, advice, or prayer.

Wouldn’t you agree relationships can be a lost art, just like reading books, listening to classical music, or even the idea of a simplistic life without constant distractions?

The Lord wants us to be genuine lovers just like he wants us to be genuine believers. It’s the greatest commandment which is to love God and then others.

Why are we so afraid to simply be who God created us to be? Broken cisterns seem to be available at the tap of our finger tips. We are no longer comfortable with ourselves. We need everything to fill the void. Everything but Jesus.

He’s truly waiting, longing, and knocking at the door of my heart. Your heart.

Once we allow Him in to dine with us, we can allow others to do the same without distractions, fear, hate, unforgiveness, shame, or shallowness… freely able (and available) to talk to others while annihilating that which keeps us from ministering the heart of God to others while simply enjoying our friendship with God alone.

In my devotional this morning I read this by Sally Clarkson, quote:

“We must understand that satan, the archenemy of God, knows how very powerful the love of Christ through us can be. He would do almost anything to keep us from understanding our great value to God so that he can cripple us. satan just hates for us to know that we are anointed with favor from God who delights in using normal people to accomplish great things. He whispers to us that we are not worthy in hopes that he can keep us from living a story worth telling through the days of our lives!“
