Don’t you think you can’t speak Japanese without special Japanese classes? No way! You can communicate with Japanese people in English from now on. Here is an easy way to do that by introducing some sentences. Your pronunciation must sound like that of native.

The situation this time: restaurants

Please pronounce these words accentuating bold-faced parts at natural speed.

To call for a staff “Excuse me.”

“See my sense.” = Suimasen

To order “Can I have this one?”

“Collect, could I sigh.” = Kore kudasai pointing your finger at menus.

To ask the price “How much is this?”

It cooler desk cut.” = Ikuradesuka

To ask a large portion “Make it large portion, please.”

“Oh Molly, Could I sigh.” = Ohmori kudasai

You may get large portion for free in lunch time fortunately as some of restaurants serve you in that way. “Tada” means FREE.

To ask another helping “Refill, please.”

“Oh cow wally.” = Okawari kudasai

To ask water “Water please.”

“Own me zoo, could I sigh.” = Omizu kudasai

To appreciate “Thank you.”

“Alley got tow.” = Arigatou

This phrase universally pleases everyone. Keep using it as needed!

To ask the check “Check please.”

“Oak count Joe” crossing both your forefingers. = Okanjo

To say “Bye-bye.”

Sir yawn alert” = Sayounara

“Let’s share the bill equally.”

By the way, Japanese have a traditional culture in restaurant. Almost people would like to split the bill. If you say “What recount show (Warikan shiyo)” to your Japanese friends, they will be willing to accept the offer.

You have already learned enough to spend the time in restaurants as native Japanese. You may be asked “How long has it been since you came to Japan?” Just try it!
