Starting today SEI will integrate Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from the Jasmine Energy platform to guarantee that every unit of energy consumed by the SEI Blockchain is sourced exclusively from renewable sources. At the heart of this collaboration is the SEI Foundation’s dedicated grant, committed to financing the acquisition and retirement of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). For each Megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy utilized by the SEI Blockchain, the SEI Foundation will procure and retire at least 1MWh of Green-e Certified RECs — an industry gold standard, epitomizing corporate-grade excellence.
Using Jasmine Energy’s tokenized RECs provides an unambiguous and traceable lineage of ownership from specific energy generators to consumers within the SEI Blockchain.
