Dear JASON Learning community,

As schools close across the country and millions of students and teachers are out of the classroom, the need for effective distance learning solutions is greater than ever. We are committed to ensuring all teachers have access to engaging lessons and resources so they can continue to have a positive impact on student learning throughout the COVID-19 response.

To make this possible, JASON is providing free access to all of our digital resources to school districts across the country.

The response so far has been overwhelming: over the past week we’ve heard from over 150 districts representing more than 2.5 million students that want JASON to be part of their COVID-19 solution. We are onboarding them as quickly as possible, delivering virtual training to their teachers, and creating turn-key lessons designed for home use that educators can use immediately with their students.

We are continuing to closely monitor the situation and wanted to take a moment to summarize all the ways we are supporting our JASON district partners and the broader K-12 community in this time of need:

Free District-Wide JASON Access: All JASON curricula, resources, videos, project-based learning experiences, games, simulations, experiments, and more are available for free for any district. Teachers can connect with their students through JASON’s platform or by linking their Google or Microsoft classroom account.

Please share with any district that could benefit! More information and the district sign-up form can be found at jason.org/coronavirus.

Daily Educator Support: JASON Learning is hosting live training webinars every day at 1pm Eastern to help educators learn how to get started with distance learning and JASON’s Digital Platform.

Print Curricula: Equity is a huge issue in this rapid transition to distance learning, and we know many students don’t have the internet connectivity or devices needed to take advantage of digital resources from home. Many of JASON’s curriculum titles have matching print resources, and we’re working to distribute these to districts with the greatest need for non-digital remote learning resource options.

The unprecedented challenges we face today bring into clear focus the work we’ve always been committed to as a mission-driven non-profit. For over 30 years, our multidisciplinary, multifaceted approach to improving teaching and learning has proven to increase STEM literacy and academic outcomes, while equipping students with the necessary skills that will prepare the next generation for the careers — and challenges — of the future.

In the weeks ahead we will continue to do everything possible to help our educators and students across the nation adapt to the new realities of distance learning. Stay connected with us and our ongoing COVID-19 response efforts on our website, jason.org, and our social media accounts.

Wishing you good health.

Kind Regards,

Eleanor Smalley
