Track at a glance with ETA bubble
Since its inception, Jatri has provided new and unique features in a concerted effort to ease the struggles commuters face on a daily basis on the streets of Dhaka city. Jatri was the first of its kind app to introduce public transport e-ticketing using digital payment. Taking a step forward, Jatri brought forth its second unique feature named tracking. Tracking was the solution to every passenger nightmare- standing at a bus station for long hours waiting for a bus to show up. Using tracking, a commuter could easily sit back in a well air conditioned room and relax, and their Jatri app would let them know when the bus would arrive.
But naturally, Jatri made leaps and bounds of progress to bring about more amazing features! We wanted to welcome 2020 with a bang, and so here we are with an exciting announcement:
We have implemented an ETA bubble into Jatri!
No idea what that means? Let’s delve in further.
As a user, you may have had a long exhausting day and you can’t wait to get back home. While waiting for your bus to come, you may want to scroll through the news feeds of social media to keep up with the latest news. And that’s exactly where ETA bubble comes in. ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) is similar to messenger chat heads, except that it shows how far away your bus is. So now, instead of staring at your phone screen to track your bus, you can simply enable your ETA bubble and go back to using social media. Your ETA bubble will count down the minutes till your bus reaches you, so there’s no chance of missing a bus again!
How do I enable ETA?
Easy. Choose a bus on your route to go to the tracking screen, then click on “Notify Me”. A bubble similar to messenger chat heads with show up on your screen and will tell how how long it will take for the bus to reach. If you want to remove it, simply drag it to the bottom of your screen and voila- it’s gone! Moreover, the bubble disappears by itself once you board the bus, making your commute as hassle free as possible.
But hey, there’s more.
Apart from the ETA bubble, we’ve also incorporated a feature that calculates your walk distance from your bus stand. It shows you, in real time, how long it will take YOU to reach the stand so that you are never too late to catch the bus.
