Among all kind of jobs, job based on technology and Information (IT) regarded as a profession that truly has better career achievements in the future. We can knew it based on survey which reported by Harris Interactive . Based on that survey showing 35 percent believe that all of kind of jobs exists, jobs in technology and Information (IT) will be much more and will continue to increase in the future. This is supported by data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics in April 2014 which IT unemployment worker in the United States is only 2.7 percent from 6.7 percent when compared to other types of work. If we look to future, it is projected that there will be more and more new software developments, so that the unemployment worker rate in the IT field will be smaller in the future.

If you read some of the news above, surely you have the desire to work in the IT Industry. But before you decide to work in the IT world, you should read:

  1. Don’t look your age, they really don’t care about it
    Don’t worry too much about your age. Don’t think that old age cannot work in the IT industry. You are totally mistaken. In fact in 2016, the average age of major workers in IT was 42 years. You can start working in the IT industry at your age, as long as you can contribute to the company, the company will not think too much about your current age
  2. A math genius doesn’t need in IT Industry
    You don’t have to be a genius in mathematics if you wanna join in IT industry. If you lack in calculus in high school or college, don’t be so stressful. The skill most needed is arithmetic skill for most jobs in IT Industry. Everything in the IT world can be obtained from hands-on experience, training courses, or self-study through your computer or laptop.
  3. Working in IT Industry can from any discipline major
    There are a misconception that you must graduated form computer science degree or other majors related with IT if you wanna join to IT industry. You can get into IT industry by many ways. You can learn by yourself or participate in boot camps to improve your skill. If you have much money, you can earn IT certifications by yourself
  4. Not all the answers of problems can be solved by yourself
    Not all the answers of problems that you will face when working in the IT world, you can solve by yourself. Stop being a superhero who can overcome all problems. Sometimes when you have a problem you need help of your friend or senior in your company. Looking for answers of problems can also be done by searching on Google or websites that specifically solve problems in the IT world such as stack overflow.
  5. Stop being curiosity is a start of failure
    Every day even every minute there is always a change in the IT world. If you just stay put, you will be left behind and no longer used. If you stop being curiosity to know about developments in the IT world, that’s the beginning of failure, failing to have a career in the IT Industry
  6. The pressure of work in the IT Industry is indeed heavy. Get used to it
    There is no single job in this world that has no pressure at work. Likewise in the IT world. You must be prepared to work under pressure.In fact, often workers in the IT Industry need to stay up late to complete their work.
