Nobody needed this playlist, yet here it is. These are my favorite songs from the decade with less than 10,999 plays on Spotify. More end of decade lists are forthcoming (I apologize in advance).

Methodology

All 50 of these songs either showed less than 10,999 plays or were less popular than the artist’s songs which also had less than 10,999 plays.

Favorites

Favorite band in the playlist: Frog

Favorite punk song: “The Cape” — Make Wave
If you’re interested in surf punk, check out the full album. It’s one of my favorites of the decade.

Favorite song that makes me want to quit my job and paint my eyes black: “The Most Beautiful Place on Earth Is the Moon” — Naps

Favorite Beach House song: “Take Me In” — Samana
Oh, this is also the best album from 2019 and it has been completely ignored.

Favorite neo-psych song: “Powers of Ten” — The See See

Neat Spotify metrics

Most danceable song: “No One Like You” — Blue Hawaii (DJ Kirby Remix)

Happiest song (highest valence): “Why” — Marco Vella

Saddest song (lowest valence): “Heavy” — Infinity Girl

Why and how?

Mostly song collected while doing my “Monthly Mixtape” playlist. I like sharing artists that I feel are underappreciated.

Note: if you find any songs on here with over 10k plays, please let me know and I will honor kill myself by swallowing an iPod Classic.
