In our previous articles, we introduced the philosophical notion of Jaxism. Let us elaborate a little bit more on its main principles.

Building a meritocracy is one of the most important tasks of Jaxism. Meritocracy is a political system in which economic goods and/or political power are vested in individual people on the basis of talent, effort, and achievement, rather than wealth or social class. In our opinion, it’s the best system that a society can choose to live in. Governments and other institutions that have a lot of influence on the life of the common man should be guided by the smartest and most prominent representatives of society. In a perfect world, they should be scientists and physicists who will facilitate the progress of humanity as a species.

Some may argue that dividing people by merit will only facilitate the problem of inequality. Well, it may be the case in the classical interpretation of a meritocracy. We at Jax.Network introduce a system based on a universal basic income (UBI).

Main provisions of a UBI system

  • All citizens should pay a tax
  • Taxes are subsequently divided between the citizens in the form of a UBI payment
  • These payments should ideally be spent on self-education and self-development
  • Under such conditions, the human race can grow and develop tremendously

Let us summarize what a UBI system is all about. It means that all citizens should pay a tax that may vary according to their input and receive UBI. So, all people will get an equal minimum income which should cover all their needs. Thus, they will have more time to learn and develop new skills as well as bring substantial value to our society.

Please note that this system doesn’t intend to deprive the wealthiest class of their earnings. We just want to introduce a society, where everyone has an equal opportunity to learn, invent, and develop. We believe there won’t be a need for all people to work hard on a job they don’t even like to make for a living. In the future, people should be able to concentrate on things they really adore and unleash their scientific and creative potential, while having no need to think about money for food, clothes, etc. Just imagine how far would we go if a person serving us food in a restaurant would spend eight hours per day on science instead. And there are millions of waiters, cashiers, drivers, and other people, who might have changed the world, if they hadn’t had to worry about money.

We are moving to a new era, where robots will do all the routine and boring work, leaving people with lots of free time. And it’s up to every individual what they will do with it. If you think, there is still plenty of time before it happens, just look around. The transformation of society has already been going on for some time. Automation, autonomous driving cars, artificial intelligence, blockchain — these are only a few examples. UBI is a concept that we can’t ignore. The sooner we will implement it, the better.

Conclusion

A meritocracy, where everyone gets a universal basic income, is a core notion of the philosophy we at Jax.Network cherish. We believe that this is the only way that can help us to develop and grow as a society.
