JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to tomorrow’s game against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi at 8 p.m. eastern.

Left-handed relief pitcher Victor Payano has been transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. Payano pitched in one game during his last stint for the Jumbo Shrimp, allowing a pair of runs against Tennessee on July 20 in an inning and two-thirds. Payano overall with Jacksonville this season is 1–1 with a 3.55 ERA in nine games appeared.

In a corresponding move, left-handed starting pitcher Dillon Peters has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Peters with the Hammerheads was 1–0 with a 0.00 ERA, pitching 10 and two-thirds scoreless innings in two starts. This is after Peters made a pair of rehab starts with the GCL Marlins in early July, going 0–1 with a 1.35 ERA in six and two-third innings.

Peters had been on Jacksonville’s disabled list since April 18 with a left thumb injury. Peters was struck on the hand by a line drive off the bat of Pensacola’s Blake Trahan on April 17 and had to leave his start in the bottom of the second. Peters has been 2–1 with a 2.25 ERA in his three starts with Jacksonville this season, and he is Miami’s No. 5 prospect according to Baseball America and MLB.com.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.
