Jacksonville begins month of May

A successful homestand comes to a close today as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp close out their series with the Mobile BayBears today at 12:05 p.m. at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

John Norwood’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning won yesterday’s game for Jacksonville 3–2 to clinch a series victory, the second for the Shrimp this season at home.

Marco LaNave also caught up with Norwood, as he was named our Navy Mutual MVP of the Game.

Marco also visited with Jacksonville manager Randy Ready in the clubhouse.

The Jumbo Shrimp conclude their series with Mobile at 12:05 p.m. Monday, when Jacksonville left-hander Mike Kickham (0–3) is scheduled to face BayBears right-hander Jake Jewell (0–1).

Gates open at 11 a.m. for the Business Person Special, which includes a 16-oz. beer or soda, a hot dog, chips and a reserved seat for $15 at the box office. VyStar Credit Union members can get a buy-3-get-1 free ticket special by showing a VyStar credit or debit card at the box office. Monday’s game is also presented by First Coast News.
