If I had to describe myself: I’m an engineer with an MBA from Wharton, who worked at Microsoft (his dream job since high school), and then started my own startup in Silicon Valley (my goal since college), sold it, and now I am a full time venture capitalist.
In my venture capital career, both as a personal investor and partner at BrandProject, I get to work with great entrepreneurs who are building big companies such as freshly.com, daily-harvest.com, owletcare.com, coveteur.com, chefsplate.com, petcube.com, vydia.com and surfeasy.com.
A few bucket list items that I was able to check off as a VC — I gave a TEDx Talk about innovation. I was nominated for VC of the Year in New Jersey, and more recently, I was selected to be co-chair of the Tech Innovation Transition team for Governor Elect Phil Murphy.
In my spare time, I continue my full time job. I just enjoy the tech world too much to not be immersed in it. I end up either reading books on next generation innovation, watching videos on new companies, coding with new frameworks to understand how new companies can be built on them, or meeting with interesting people in the tech ecosystem.
Before venture capital, I was the co-founder of spock.com, the world’s leading people search engine. In 6 short months after launch, Spock.com became one of the top 1000 sites on the Internet and was covered by the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Businessweek, Forbes, Newsweek, ABC News, NBC, NYSC, and the Financial Times. I was considered an expert on search and often asked to speak at conferences and panels on the future of search and the evolution of the internet.
During my start-up life, I was interviewed by publications and appeared on ABC news, NBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, Reuters TV, and Time Magazine. I have an MBA from the Wharton School and an Engineering Degree with highest honors from Rutgers University.
