The 25 years old legacy of Jazz has been possible through the tireless work of our key resource — our employees. At Jazz, the Technology domain provides the highway which supports all the products and services which Jazz’s teams bring to life. Technology and infrastructure play a critical role in ensuring that our customers enjoy seamless connectivity throughout Pakistan. With the market leadership stance and 61 million customers to serve, our people are the key drivers in ensuring quality service and innovative solutions. At Jazz, the drive towards people excellence is ensured through coaching, learning on the job, upskilling, and match-making with the right opportunity. Celebrating consistent success, we bring to you our new Head of Network Operations Center, Beenish Wajih.

Beenish has been with Jazz for over a decade, where she started her professional journey in 2008 where she started off as a software developer and then, got exposure to domains like network planning and operations. Beenish has always been focused on honing her expertise through challenging projects and steadily rose to higher levels of responsibility. She assumed the role of Manager NOC Back-office Support in 2017. Throughout her career, she has been driven to learn more and her core expertise lies in team management, operational excellence, and organizational development, with a keen understanding of network as well as business elements.

Beenish holds a bachelors degree in computer engineering from UET Lahore and has completed various technical trainings to continuously upskill herself. In her childhood, Beenish used to visit her father’s office where she got to observe the defense manufacturing units and what technical processes it entailed. That’s where she caught the “engineering bug” and by the time she was in grade 4, she knew that she wanted to pursue this as a profession. She excelled during her education at UET Lahore by winning multiple accolades for her research project.

Beenish is a working mom of two and prides herself on maintaining a successful work lie balance. In fact, her kids are extremely proud how their mom is leading teams and helping people succeed. When she is not busy managing teams, she likes to spend her free time in playing tennis, badminton, and traveling. Beenish shares why Jazz has been the employer of choice for her, “Jazz played a vital role in enabling my successful career by giving me equal opportunities and learning exposure. Here, ethics and workplace safety play a huge role in creating a level playing field for all.”

It is imperative to create an enabling workplace which implements policies and frameworks which are inclusive, transparent, and fair for all. At Jazz, we hire for potential and drive, with a specific focus on creating equal opportunities. “Women can change mindsets and traditional norms about their perception at work just by sheer effort to excel and positive attitude”, Beenish refers to her journey. Technology domain is the “next big thing” as more technical skills such as computer science and mathematics become very valuable of the skills of the future, with hiring moving away from the traditional degree title to a more skillset-based employment. And Jazz is here to curate the vision for the Workplace of the Future.
