The concept behind the 4xe Wrangler is great. The American icon. In Hybrid.

Wranglers are not famous of their fuel economy, and who could say no to the promise of amazing MPG, power and torque competing with the Wrangler 392 specs on a significantly lower price point — especially considering the $7500 federal tax credit (yes, credit and not rebate nor incentive) + EV / PHEV incentives depending on state.

On top of this, the promise from Jeep comes bundled with silent driving without compromising the Wrangler capabilities. Of course, it is still a Wrangler with all its PROs and Cons.

It can crawl over rocks, it can cross rivers and will do a good job off-road (the Rubicon trim for sure with the sway-bar disconnect, front and rear lockers and proper all terrain tires from factory). But it is still a Wrangler. It is loud (even in full electric mode), has bad MPG when running on gas only even worse eMPG, and Wranglerish comfort.

But let’s see the true the too good to be true 4xe Wrangler after using the 4xe for over one month and 2000 miles as both daily driver and recreational vehicle, and what are the top 10 reasons you should stick to regular gas or diesel variants instead of buying the 4xe.

Now let’s see that list.
