What is the Junior Movement?

The Junior Movement is an initiative that brings together enterprises run by university students. Its main aim is to offer higher education students real experience in the business world, preparing them to face the challenges of the job market.

Global reach
At a global level, the Junior Movement is present in more than 46 countries, with a community of more than 65,000 student entrepreneurs around the world. This global community allows for the exchange of experiences and collaboration between its members.

Presence in Europe
In Europe, JEE (Junior Enterprises Europe) has more than 33,000 student entrepreneurs. These students take part in a variety of activities, from project management to drawing up business strategies.

Presence in Portugal
In Portugal, the network is represented by JE Portugal, the Federation of Junior Enterprises of Portugal. This federation brings together various Junior Enterprises throughout the country, promoting the exchange of experiences and collaboration between its members.

Impact on society
The Junior Movement has an important impact on society, as it offers students the opportunity to apply the knowledge they acquire at university in real business situations. In addition, Junior Enterprises contribute to the local economy by providing services and creating jobs.

JE Portugal
Also known as the Federation of Junior Enterprises of Portugal, represents all Junior Enterprises in Portugal. It provides mentoring, support and assistance to Junior Enterprises, as well as promoting events to create synergies between them.
The first Junior Enterprise in Portugal was founded in 1990, but it wasn’t until 2012 that the requirements for founding JE Portugal were met. Since then, JE Portugal has acted as a regulatory body for national Junior Enterprises, mediating between them and the different stakeholders.
