Initial Thoughts:

We had to take a few days to really take this song in because there’s a lot going on! We just wanna start my saying I’m super proud of Melly Rose. She came hard last year with her song with Crazy. While her song last year had a more nostalgic and older feel to it, she’s come hard with a much more modern sound for My G. She has incredible vocals combined with a style that’s fresh and unique. We think she’s the perfect person to sing this song because she manages to still have that soca feel while trying something new and modern. Moreover, this song is different! A song that talks about love and loyalty in relationships. We always say that soca needs more diverse lyrics than the same wine and bend over music. This is a perfect example of how you can still make a great song without those lyrics.

The Production/Writing

Big up to Akeem Chance aka “Preedy” for writing this chune. Preedy always has a way of making really sensual songs about relationships. I attribute it to his talent though sometimes Preedy makes me wonder if a woman really break this man heart 😂.

Production wise, these sounds have great harmony with a soca/dancehall feel. I mean, we’re talking Stadic Music also known as Kevin Charles. The guy is a production perfectionist/genius. Always respect how he’s trying something new and always mingling soca & dancehall together.

Melly and I were talking about how music like this might actually help people in relationships. In other words, allyuh need to stop horn 😂. But on the real, sensual and romantic soca is rare.

It have a summer time feel with good vibes. Throw this ina mix, up the BPM just slightly and DJs will mash up.
Overall, this is a great song if you want something different and vibezy!

That’s what we think! Tell us what you think in the comments below.
