Install the app
Follow the usual steps for installation:
Configure the app
Once installed, the app will start automatically. As you can see the application is pretty simple and straightforward. You have to fill in several fields.
First, name your agent. Then choose the trading pairs you want to provide liquidity to, and set up the fee you want to receive as a market maker.
Butler is the first market making software that allows providers to set up their own spreads.
Second, fill in the respective addresses where you hold the coins.
Then you are required to generate an API key from Infura.
The Infura API Key is used to communicate with the Ethereum blockchain. This is the API Key that is required for running Butler. It’s a simple process — follow these steps if you need help.
Third, choose the price provider. In other words — the source you want to take the updated price from.
Then choose the interval you want the price to be updated.
The rebalance option gives you the chance to connect to Binance in order to rebalance your portfolio and take care of any impermanent losses. Read more here.
Lastly, turn on your email or Slack notifications and click START
In the advanced options, you are able to change the database layer used by Butler and the port on which Butler will start operating. We recommend you to stick with the default options.
If the setup is done properly, you will see a screen similar to this one:
Under the tab Wallets, you will be able to monitor your balance and profit.
You are able to stop the Butler at any time. But don’t forget — if you are about to participate in our incentive program, your application should be up and running during the required period.
