With more than 3 billions videos viewed each month, most of the audience is in the U.S with a rapid growth in India and Europe.
Jellysmack is among the top publishers on all major social networks. On Facebook, over 1,500 published videos each month, and more than 2 billions monthly views for the last several months. For Snapchat, average topsnap views per story is over 50 millions per month. The number of total views on Instragram exceeds 87 millions each month.
One of the strength of Jellysmack is to leverage information technology and data in order to better determine what content to make and how to optimize the distribution. Analyzing audience reaction is crucial to determine what content is successful and to figure out why. This implies the processing of massive amount of data in the global markets. This is why Jellysmack has developed several analytical tools.
The 4 main objectives of these tools are:
- Become a key differentiator for topic discovery.
- Provide in-depth insights of videos and channel performances.
- Provide full multi platform overviews.
- Provide a platform aimed at creators and brands.
The development of this sophisticated data analysis applications requires top-notch specialists in software engineering, data science, and infrastructure. This is Jellysmack’s Technology Department composed of 3 teams, Software Development, Infrastructure, and Data Science which are located in the offices of Paris and Corti, Corsica. There are two other offices, one in New York for sales and marketing, and the other in Los Angeles for video production in cooperation with the video teams in Paris.
In a nutshell, interactions between the 3 Tech teams are as follows, the Software Development team is responsible for data acquisition. The data is then analyzed with algorithms developed by the Data Science team, and the Development team implements applications to visualize information generated by algorithms. To close the loop the Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the infrastructure.
Jellysmack’s infrastructure relies on both, on premise and the cloud especially to run algorithm developed by the Data Science and written in Python. Some algorithms use Machine Learning and other artificial intelligence techniques.
The Software Development team writes applications in Node JS, Vue JS and PHP.
