Ah, nothing like a visually stunning game to add to the escapism. Get your duvet-cave, bottle of coke and snacks at the ready:

Here’s 11 of my favourite visually stunning games ever (old and new):

1) Mirror’s Edge (2008)

2) Final Fantasy VIII (1999)

OK, whilst I admit there were a lot of ugly scenes in this game (The Dollet spider thing? That part is just boring it’s so visually dull), there were also a few areas in the game that were visually (for its time!)

3) Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2011)

4) LA Noire (2011)

5) Flashback (1992)

OK, so I know, this game is a little old. OK, it’s old. But in it’s time, it was gooood lookin’. Ubisoft are also launching a remake of Flashback next week, which is exciting news!

6) BioShock (2007)

7) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)

9) Tomb Raider series

OK, I know this is technically cheating as it’s more than one game, but they’re all stunning (even the old ones!)

10) Final Fantasy X (2001)

Yeah, so I’m a FF fan. There was bound to be more than one FF in this list.

11) Final Fantasy XIII-2 (2012)

Basically, ALL THE Final Fantasy series.
