Breakfast Poem

Sitting at the bar.

It’s breakfast and a breakfast place

So funny to sit at the bar -

But nice.

I love the chatter at a bar

Everyone a sort of free agent

And the bartender as conductor.

Morning noise is different -

More muted and homogenous.

Everyone catching up,

Waking up together.

The backdrop a buzz of conversation

To the hip music.

Partners for a small time

In greeting the day.
