Here are a few tools we are using CodeHS which I feel have become standard, or at least seem really common for software and distributed work setups. It’s hard to claim they are standard, but I think anecdotally I have seen them used in many cases.

Zoom — we use this for video calls. I still think zoom is very OK, even though I think it is the best product we tried or I have used for video calls.

Slack — we use this for chat. It’s helpful when working in different locations but also can get very distracting…

Guru — we use this for a knowledge base. Seems they have really been picking up customers recently. It’s a helpful chrome extension.

Gmail and Google Suite— gmail is really a solid email product, and the google apps productivity tools with docs, sheets, forms, and presentations are really just awesome. They are getting better, and it’s easier to collaborate with people in different countries. I spent a lot of time on docs, sheets and presentations.

Intercom — we use Intercom for chat and support with customers. I see intercom popping up on many sites now, seems they really have a product that has hit a sweet spot.

What do you see as some of the most common software products for software companies or distributed work?
