You can always go back

If you venture too far from camp, you can always go back.

Except that sometimes you can’t.

Sometimes the branch breaks.

Sometimes you run out of gas.

Sometimes everyone leaves.

If you are able to find your way back, one thing is certain: you’ve changed.

Time passes. And you’re a different person now.

The person who left is dead and gone.

In some ways, yes… you can always go back.

And in other ways, no… you can never go back.

“You” disappeared the moment you left.
