What part of the future is real? Nisargadatta Maharaj
A small quote from Nisargadatta Maharaj about the nature of what is “real”. Note, this perspective comes from fairly high on “Jesse’s Mountain”.
Q: Is all imaginable unreal?
M: Imagination based on memories is unreal. The future is not entirely unreal.
Q: Which part of the future is real and which is not?
M: The unexpected and the unpredicted is real.
If you are unfamiliar with Nisargadatta Maharaj, I’d suggest the works of Eckhart Tolle or similar authors as a stepping stone. I’m mostly making a post like this here, for the sake of reference later, rather than attempting to elaborate extensively about its meaning or context.
