Catholic Catechism #004 — Why Isn’t Christianity Uniting Christians?

Overview:

Dan wrote a FB post in June that formed the basis of this introductory episode. He wrote “the church, which should united us against injustice, has mostly divided along the same lines as society in general.”

But Jesus came to tear down the dividing walls of hostility among men! Why is the Church not uniting Christians and what solutions do we have for our divisions?

In this episode, we cover a wide range of topics going all the way back to the earliest schisms of Christianity and how we mostly divide along ethnic, socio-economic, or political lines — like everyone else. It is human.

The figure of Christ is the solution.

Not only is he Jewish (different from most of us ethnically, culturally, and probably politically) but he is also Lord and he commands unity — “if you love me, you will obey what I command…This is my command: love each other.”-John 14–15.
