The JET8 Foundation, in partnership with Mobile Monday South Africa, today announced the launch of the JET8-powered app MoMo ZA.

Mobile Monday is the world’s leading mobile community, dedicated to fostering cooperation and cross-border development of the mobile sector. Happening on November 12th, Mobile Monday South Africa’s inaugural Year End event is one of the most highly anticipated technology events in the region, with industry leaders, visionaries, and developers attending to discuss the future of the mobile marketplace.

The launch of MoMo ZA, the JET8-built social media app, will enable attendees and followers around the world to share event highlights in real time, and stay connected with the global community after the event. Using Mobile Monday branded stickers and frames, users are rewarded with JETS, JET8’s in-app social currency, for every in-app like, comment, and share, which users can use to redeem products online or over-the-counter across more than 2,500 retail stores in South Africa.

JET8 Foundation Chairman Victor Zabrockis will address the event as a keynote speaker, celebrating the JET8 partnership with Mobile Monday through the launch of the app.

JET8 Foundation Chairman, Victor Zabrockis said: “Mobile technology is evolving at a rapid pace and JET8 is at the forefront of this movement. Decentralised social media communities have enabled us to revolutionise the influencer marketing landscape. I’m looking forward to sharing what we’ve accomplished to the attendees of Mobile Monday as we change the future of mobile technology together.”

Mobile Monday South Africa Co-Chairman, Andrew McHenry said: “With JET8 technology, it’s now easier than ever to connect our global Mobile Monday community in South Africa. Our partnership with the JET8 Foundation illustrates our belief that decentralised social media apps are essential to the future of mobile technology, as well as brand building.”

The JET8 decentralised network is currently utilised by over 50 global brands and marketers including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Nestlé, Spur Steak Ranches, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and McDonald’s.
