A message from JET8’s new CEO, Shannon Cullum
Just over a year ago, I became an investor in JET8 — because as someone with 20 plus years of experience in marketing and communications, I recognized immediately the simple power of JET8’s selfies-to-sales model.
Four months ago, I became JET8’s first Chief Marketing Officer — a job I eagerly accepted — because, as an investor, I saw first-hand the passion and commitment of JET8’s founders, the support and solidarity of its investors, and the incredible potential of its expansion plan.
Last week, I accepted the role of JET8’s CEO — because after four, fast-paced and eventful months, my passion for JET8, its people, its product, and its future has done nothing but grow.
We’re now a company operating on the blockchain — technology that we believe will transform, not only our business, but eventually all business. As a company, it’s incredibly exciting to be among what is still a relatively small group of early blockchain adopters. But it’s challenging as well, and the landscape changes almost daily. All in all, the learning curve has been steep, but we’re better for it and better positioned than ever to be successful as a result of the journey we’ve taken thus far.
It’s been just over a month since we completed our Token Generation Event, but already we’ve made tremendous progress toward the transformation of JET8 as a company and offering.
Over the past week or so, we’ve launched the first of our new APPaaS verticals for Sports Marketing, Music Festivals, Film & TV, Cities and NGOs — officially kicking off the age of Decentralized Engagement Networks (DENs). Additional verticals will follow soon, including JET8 for Celebrities & Influencers.
And with these ready to go, we’ve also been out there talking to several high-profile organizations about being the first to establish their own engagement networks. The response has been fantastic, and we expect to have some major announcements on this front soon. Meanwhile, new campaigns continue to run in Fotoku, the latest being a campaign for Man City’s Indonesian fan base, hot on the heals of Spurs Steak Ranches, a leading restaurant chain in our newest market, South Africa.
On the Dev front, last week we announced an upgrade to our App Wallet that now makes it possible for people to see how much their JETS are worth in terms of the blockchain-based JET8 token. This is the first step toward fully migrating the blockchain-based token into the ecosystem itself.
We’ve also been working hard to build a world-class team to drive and manage this growth and development. The last few weeks have seen us announce the hiring of our first ever Head of Retail who will lead and help build our retail channel and e-commerce offering. We’ve also hired a Director of Growth and Development for the Philippines, giving us dedicated sales support in our biggest market. In the coming weeks I’ll be able to announce several more exciting new hires in key roles.
Overall — we’re seeing great progress. But clearly this is just the beginning. I’m excited about what the future holds for JET8 and grateful for the opportunity to be part of it in my new capacity as CEO.
Thanks, as always, for your support.
Shannon Cullum, JET8 CEO
Man City Premier League Champions campaign goes live!
Tapping into the people power of their fans, this week Man City launches their first JET8 campaign, with a range of ‘Premier League Champions’ assets available on Fotoku. Man City will rally the support of their Indonesian football fan base, generating real buzz and enabling users to buy ‘Cityzens’ t-shirts with their earned rewards.
Starting in May the campaign will run for 3 months, Man City taking the lead as the first major sports team to utilize JET8’s Co2Co™ (Content to Commerce) technology, with other sports teams expected to follow suit.
Sports clubs now have a working model for global fan engagement, enabling them to reward users for original and captivating content, sell products to their fan base, and learn more about their community through capturing user data.
