Social entrepreneur & environmental advocate Christine Amour-Levar to advise JET8 Foundation
As the world faces increasing environmental challenges due to climate change, the most vulnerable in society are at the biggest risk. With this in mind, social entrepreneur, environmental advocate, marketing specialist and author Christine Amour-Levar founded Singapore-based non-profits HER Planet Earth and Women on a Mission.
Dedicated to supporting and empowering women in the face of environmental degradation, armed conflict and sexual violence, these organisations raise awareness and much needed funds through expeditions to the Arctic, the Antarctic, the Middle East, Africa and the Himalayas.
As an advocate for environmental sustainability and gender equality, Christine is passionate about finding new ways to improve the human condition.
Christine said:
“Technology has the power not only to transform lives, but to give hope and even safeguard vulnerable populations. There is a role for everyone to play in democratising technology so that all communities can access its benefits and opportunities. Businesses, governments and NGOs must come together with a shared vision, sincere compassion, and pragmatic thinking to help improve the human condition. Only then will it be possible to drive more inclusive and shared growth worldwide.”
#HERplanetearth is a global advocacy movement for women and the environment. Women on a Mission (WOAM) aims to reach out to women who are often left behind — those who struggle with poverty and violence, who are denied basic education and health care, and whose lives have been devastated by conflict and abuse.
DEN Culture sessions continue to inspire
Musician and producer Jero Castellà takes to the stage with his diverse offerings of rock, blues, funk, pop, jazz, and new age, at this week’s DEN Culture session!
Known for his wide-ranging influences and skill as a guitarist, Jero’s versatility and passion also led to compositions for film, TV, and theatre. In 2015, Jero released Astralic, an album of film soundtracks paying homage to nature.
Supporting artists of all kinds and connecting them with their fans, the DEN Culture sessions are intimate live events, filmed and shared with the world through bespoke social media apps.
