At Kollegorna, we’re a small team of 10 people spread across the world, building digital products and services, and who manage to work together despite the many obstacles we face — the geographical and cultural barriers, the time zone gaps, the different languages and backgrounds. In fact, we like to think we work together nicely because of all those differences. They offer an extra incentive to get to know your colleagues and a chance to challenge your own ideas and biases — those you may have picked up from your surroundings, and that might be distorted by the fact that you never got to see the same things from someone else’s perspective. We all feel like that is one major perk of our work.

So we thought: if bringing different cultures together has become such a fundamental part of our company’s work ethic, why not take the chance to share some of it with the rest of the world? That’s where You Might Also Like, our brand new blog, comes in.

With a range of nationalities as diverse as ours, we decided it would be interesting to let the team share a little bit of their day-to-day lives with the world: the cities they live in, the things they like best about their culture, their countries and their travels, and the stuff they do to get their minds off of work. We’re hoping it will help us get to know each other even better, and give everyone in the team a channel through which they can share a bit of their own heritage, learn from each other — and hopefully give you something you’ll want to add to your bucket list.

About the name

Unless you’re entirely new to this whole internet deal (in which case, welcome!), you’ve probably realised where the name comes from by now. We’ve all seen those pesky little widgets promoting paid ads as content you might be interested in. They’ve become one of the only ways content creators have found to finance their work, so they’re nearly omnipresent at this point — which is slightly annoying.

Because our new publication is not directly related to the work we do at Kollegorna, but we do think you might actually like the content we’ll be publishing, we thought it would be the perfect play on words to call it You Might Also Like. But, of course, we’ll let you be the judge of that: find our new blog now at youmightalsolike.us.

Kollegorna are a team of designers, developers and strategists building first-rate digital products and services.
