We have the best customers

Now that the holidays are over, and the Jewelbots have been unwrapped, we are taking the chance to take a step back and reflect on what we’ve done in the past year.

We built 7,000 Jewelbots

Of those 7,000, 5,555 have been shipped around the world, to 35 countries!

<- in these beautiful packages.

Of those that shipped they have had only a .52% failure rate (31 broken ones have been returned).

Jewelbots are also in places you shop!

We are selling on Target.com, and were featured in the Wired holiday store.

Here are just a few of the amazing things that people are doing with their Jewelbots

Playing Jinglebells
Building Open Source
Fun during Hour of Code

What’s Next?

We’re glad you asked. The first thing we are doing is working on this little guy:

Here is the robot charm people voted should be the next charm for their Jewelbots. We also open sourced his .STL file here, so people that can’t wait can 3d print their own charm.

We’ve also been communicating with our customers about what they’d like exposed as part of the coding API of Jewelbots.

We recently sent out a survey, and asked people to vote on what they’d like to be able to do with their Jewelbots.

We also asked what kind of events they’d like to see and what materials would be helpful. From the beginning we’ve worked to be a company focused on listening to our users and customers. After all, it’s been a long time since we’ve been in our target demographic and only they can speak to what they are looking for.

When we asked “what feature would you like to see added to the Jewelbots API?” this was their answer:

The ability to detect your friends in your code. This would allow you to code things like “if I am near Jenny, then my Jewelbot should do this.”

When we asked about what events people would like to see, and the winner was:

A worldwide Jewelbots hack weekend, with easy to download content and materials

We are also working to roll out our Ambassador program, where girls can give each other support and share what they’ve coded with each other. We also want to build a better place for our documentation and to release our app.

It’s been a great ride so far, and we’re rolling up our sleeves heading into 2017.

It’s been a great ride so far, and we’re rolling up our sleeves heading into 2017. Thank to everyone for all your support.

It’s incredibly rewarding to know that there are lots of girls out there coding and building because of Jewelbots. That’s what we set to build out in the beginning, and now we get to focus on improving the experience and growing the community.
