“So, the Medium piece now has
100,000 visitors
1,300 recommends
48,000 referrals from Facebook
and 89 responses.”

I looked up from my desk at my cofounder Brooke with wide eyes.

We work in a small office so our day tends to be punctuated be non-sequiturs as our preferred way of disseminating information.

“That’s so crazy, what can we do about it?”

We’ve been spending a lot of time brainstorming about how to grow awareness for Jewelbots. This seemed like an opportunity too good to pass up.

“I don’t know,” I replied. “If we were shipping units right now I’d say let’s do a hackathon. It seems parents are super passionate about building with their daughters and they care a lot about turning them on to technology.”

“Why wait?” said Brooke, always the one to come up with the perfect solution. “We may not have Jewelbots, but we know how to hack. Why can’t we bring girls the opportunity now to build things with their parents?”

INTRODUCING:
Take Your Daughter to Hack Weekend

RSVP HERE

So we’re doing it! We are partnering with some amazing organizations. Like Medium, this amazing content platform; and Stack Exchange, the site that has saved countless programmers from early exhaustion, and Little Bits: the most fun electronics platform that you’ve ever played with.

Together we are hosting two hack days: June 27th we’ll be hacking in San Francisco at Medium, and on June 28th we’ll be in New York City at Stack Exchange.

All proceeds being donated to Girls Who Code.

Both days start at 10am and finish around 6pm.

The hackathon is open to all ages and genders, but with a special focus on girls.

All levels of expertise are welcome.

Hardware or software, your choice.

We’ll be hosting workshops throughout the day and giving prizes to the teams with the coolest hacks.

We hope you are as excited as we are.

Feel free to reach out to hi@jewelbots.com with any questions.
