The tranquil lake at Henry Kaufman campgrounds awaits summer and campers cruising in paddle boats

SIJCC Lilllian Schwartz Day Camp’s Henry J. Kaufman Campgrounds sits on 75 wooded, country-like acres, including two lakes, in the heart of the Staten Island Greenbelt.

Enter Camp and be enveloped by thousands of shades of green and seemingly endless stretches of nature.

Every morning, as SIJCC Campers and counselors walk along the gravel path to their rustic shelters, their footsteps are punctuated by the sounds of croaking frogs, chirping birds, and sweet breezes through groves of oak, hickory, beech, maple, sweetgum and tulip trees.

Even birds are welcome at Camp

Campers’ laughs and songs fill the air during the day; but when evening comes, so does the quietude.

Our tranquil, fun-filled site is one of many reasons SIJCC Camp was chosen Staten Island’s Best Day Camp in the Staten Island Advance’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
