Delegation of Taiwan Government Officials Visits Israel
Israel and Taiwan could be a great match when it comes to the high tech field. There are lots of business opportunities that Taiwan could pursue in the Startup Nation.
As reported by The Times of Israel, James Huang — the chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) — declared that: ““Israel and Taiwan are a great match.”
TAITRA is a nonprofit trade promotion organization, which operates within the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan.
According to Huang, the two cultures are not so different. For this reason, the two countries could “complement each other perfectly” and work on future technologies together.
Today, Taiwan manufactures 80 percent of the world’s PCs and 25 percent of the world’s semiconductors.
Huang visited Israel with 14-person delegation. Among the delegation members, Taiwanese heads of VC funds and executives of high tech firms, looking to expand the cooperation between Taiwanese and Israeli startups.
During this visit, Israel’s Export Institute and TAITRA signed a memorandum of understanding to help promote trade and delegations. The memorandum’s goal is to inform businesses in both countries about investment and joint venture opportunities in Taiwan and Israel.
Huang was in Israel for another reason as well. He wanted to promote Computex, the largest ICT and startups trade show in Asia (June 5-9).
