Israel’s Finance Minister Kahlon Will Meet With Amazon, Google in Davos
Israeli Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon is set to meet with representatives of multinational tech giants Google and Amazon.
Kahlon is currently in Davos, Switzerland to take part in the annual World Economic Forum.
The Israeli Minister announced the meetings in an interview the Israeli national radio station operated by the Israeli military. According to Kahlon, the purpose of the meeting with Amazon would be the company’s interest in entering the Israeli market.
As reported by CTech, Amazon had had a presence in Israel since 2015 when it acquired Israel-based chip-designer Annapurna Labs.
In October 2018, the company opened new offices in Tel Aviv, which now house the Alexa Voice Shopping team, the local Amazon Web Services operations and Annapurna Labs team.
