Netanyahu discusses technologies with Elon Musk
The prime minister met with Elon Musk at his residence in Jerusalem, as reported by Globes The two discussed future technologies during the two-hour meeting, including autonomous vehicles.
South African-born Canadian American billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, the CEO of electric-car maker Tesla, has met Netanyahu during his stay in Israel.
Netanyahu later told the Negev conference: “I met with Elon Musk this morning. He told me that Israel is a technological power, and that he appreciates what we’re doing here.”
According to Israel’s Prime Minister, Musk said that the Negev could supply all of Israel’s energy needs. “The Negev is Israel’s energy future. You can deploy solar systems here that will give you more energy than you need — clean energy,” Musk said.
Musk also visited Jerusalem during his visit.
When Netanyahu visited Munich in February, he met with auto industry leaders, including BMW chairperson Harald Krueger. According to Netanyahu, Krueger wants to make Israel one of the places in the world where it conduct autonomous vehicle trials.
