Record: 4.1m tourists visited Israel in 2018

4,120,800 tourists visited Israel last year. The Ministry of Tourism estimates that the income from tourism last year was of about $5.8 billion.

The number of tourists visiting Israel increased by 14% if compared to 2017.
The booming period of the year for tourism was December. During that month, 325,600 people visited Israel.

The Ministry of Tourism estimates that income from tourists in December totalled NIS 1.7 billion. In December, 37,400 tourists came by land, 26,200 by sea and 288,100 by air.

As reported by Globes, Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin said that the record was achieved due to a revolutionary change in marketing. Indeed, new air routes to Israel were opened, infrastructures were improved and new collaborations with large travel agencies worldwide were established.
