The Jewish Economic Forum is glad to announce the official launch of a local Chapter in China. The new JEF’s Chinese Chapter will be managed in partnership with Techcode, the international Chinese global network of startup innovation hubs.

Itay Gal-Or

Head of the Chapter will be Mr. Itay Gal-Or, who’s also the investment director of Techcode in Israel and has a long-term experience in China.

Mr. Gal-Or has a versatile background with expertise in the areas of Law, Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Entrepreneurship. His background includes working with well-known and respected investment firms from the UK and US.

It’s no secret that China-Israel relationships are flourishing. From 1992 to 2017, bilateral trade has grown from $50 million to $13.1 billion.

Today, China is Israel’s number one trade partner in Asia. During the first half of 2018, China’s imports from Israel reached an astonishing volume of $2.77 billion.

Last December, Israel and China signed a $500m agreement addressed to boost Israeli exports.

It’s no surprise then, that the focus of the Jewish Economic Forum must go East as well, given the crucial business potential.

With the opening of this new chapter, the Jewish Economic Forum aims at serving as a gateway for Chinese investors and corporates who look to establish or expand their operations in Israel as well as in Europe.

Also, thanks to the strong collaboration with Techcode, JEF’s members will now have a consistent and local partner to penetrate the Chinese economy.

As stated by JEF’s Chairman, Mr. Jonathan Pacifici:

“The Jewish Economic Forum is delighted with the launch of this new chapter and the beginning of this partnership with Techcode. The Chinese chapter will undoubtedly expand the JEF’s network ability to support its members and I have no doubts it will result in numerous business opportunities”.

Mr. Gal-Or added:

“Techcode is pleased to announce our partnership with the Jewish Economic Forum, our collaboration shares a passion for providing opportunities and access to the innovation sector in China and around the world. We’re looking forward to working together.”
