Jewish Solidarity Caucus Supports Jewdas in the Face of Right-wing Attack

As MPs (many of whom are not Jewish) line-up to condemn Jeremy Corbyn for attending a Seder to the cheers of the right-wing Jewish establishment, the Jewish Solidarity Caucus offers our full support to Jewdas and the vision of a liberated Jewish community they are creating. This is a vision that we, and thousands of Jews around the world, share.

The attacks against Jewdas are yet another example of the right-wing Jewish establishment’s flailing attempts to delegitimize a growing movement of socialist Jews built on centuries of radical work. From Jonathan Arkush to Abe Foxman, we know all too well that they will try to squash any conception of Jewish identity that differs from their own. The Jewish establishments in both the US and Britain are accommodating the status quo of Donald Trump and Theresa May. We seek to build a better world. Soon we will be many, while they are few.

We hope that Jeremy Corbyn celebrates another Seder with Jewdas in 5779, even though we’re sure he’ll be busy with his duties as Prime Minister. All we ask is that next time we get an invite too!
