Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N) lent some of his time to cast for a Jewish version of Saturday Night Live video commercial featuring Jewish National Fund board members, introduced as cast members, announcing the organization’s next national conference in New York.

The video starts with Schumer talking on his cellphone at his DC office. “Yes. I understand you will be voting on their bill next week. It’s got the votes to pass, don’t you worry. We’ll get that done,” the senior Senator from New York is heard assuring the person on the other end of the phone. After an aide hands him over a note, Schumer chooses to end the conversation: “I have to run. Something really big and urgent has come up,” he says and shuts his flip phone.

Echoing the famous SNL cold open phrase, Schumer announces, “Live from New York, it’s the Jewish National Fund’s national conference.”

The commercial was published on YouTube on Tuesday — a day after the Jewish National Fund 2015 national conference, which took place in Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, ended. The 2016 national conference will take place in New York on September 16–19.
