De Holiday a God Control: As 100 melhores músicas da Madonna
Em quase quarenta anos de carreira, a diva coleciona canções memoráveis — eis aqui as cem melhores
Em comemoração aos 62 anos da Madonna, o #JhCritica decidiu listar quais os seus melhores videoclipes, as suas piores músicas e as suas cem melhores canções.
Talvez um dos maiores desafios que um fã pode ter seja escolher os filmes, as obras de arte, os livros ou as músicas prediletas do seu artista favorito. E depois disso, ter que colocá-los em ordem de preferência. O desafio torna-se maior quando o seu artista adorado tem um catálogo grandioso e, em geral, de muita qualidade. Esse é o caso da Madonna.
Com mais de 35 anos de carreira e 14 álbuns de estúdio lançados, não é exagero dizer que não existe música pop sem a Madonna. Para a Billboard, ela é a quinta melhor artista de todos os tempos! Ela não só ditou tendências, como impactou a cultura pop e a moda, encantou milhões de fãs ao redor do mundo e deixou de cabelo em pé conservadores e moralistas.
O seu portfólio possui mais de 350 músicas e várias delas marcaram gerações e são hits incontestáveis. Diante desse catálogo, eu, como fã, me propus a escolher as minhas canções prediletas. Foram listas e listas feitas e refeitas até chegar a uma relação que muito me agrada. Entre os vários critérios para chegar a essa lista “definitiva” existiu algo que foi determinante e que me serviu como guia: “Se eu pudesse escolher, quais são as músicas da Madonna que eu gostaria de ouvir para sempre?”. A partir dai, foi só fazer a catalogação.
Alguns fãs certamente vão sentir falta de clássicos e/ou vão se espantar com algumas colocações, mas a relação é extremamente pessoal e afetiva. O meu desejo seria que vários fãs fizessem esse tipo de escolha — que dá trabalho, mas é prazerosa — , compartilhassem nas redes e gerassem debates entre os fãs da Rainha do Pop.

Certamente Madonna não mais lembra dessa canção (*risos de desespero*) e alguns podem se surpreender com a presença dela nas dez melhores, mas assim como outras músicas dessa lista ela me marcou assim que ouvi pela primeira vez. Para mim, é uma música com a cara dos anos 90 e que se não tivesse sido trilha sonora teria de fazer parte do Bedtime Stories (1994). Extremamente subestimada, a música merece mais. Mais glórias, mais aclamação entre os fãs e mais streaming.

9. Get Together (Confessions On a Dance Floor, 2005)
Os fanáticos por “Hung Up” que me perdoem, mas por aqui o elegante dance-pop de “Get Together” é soberano. A canção é ótima e representa o melhor pedaço do incrível Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). A canção, que poderia ser facilmente da Kylie Minogue, não possui um videoclipe digno (como você poderá conferir abaixo), mas marcou presença na Confessions Tour em uma versão remixada que tornou a canção ainda mais cativante. Para os fãs de disco music, a música é imperdível!

De todo esse top 10, essa certamente é a canção mais surpreendente. No entanto, ela não poderia ficar de fora. É um daqueles casos em que nos apaixonamos desde a primeira audição. O álbum American Life (2003) nem é um dos meus prediletos da Madonna, mas essa canção me pegou por completo e para mim é o ponto alto do ~polêmico~ disco. Os elementos gospeis, com direito a coral, tornam a música muito bonita; talvez tenham sido esses elementos que me conquistaram e fizeram a canção garantir o oitavo lugar em nossa lista na frente de vários outros clássicos da Rainha do Pop.

7. Oh Father (Like a Prayer, 1989)
“A Rainha está nua!” a analogia retirada do conto literário esta aqui com um outro significado: nesta bela e dramática canção, Madonna expõe as suas mais íntimas mágoas com relação ao seu pai. Uma das joias do excelente disco Like a Prayer (1989), a canção possui uma digna e belíssima performance na Blond Ambition Tour. Certamente é o melhor momento autobiográfico do catálogo da Madonna.

6. Bad Girl (Erotica, 1992)
Eu me pergunto se a própria Madonna lembra dessa música… Capaz de nem a maioria dos fãs lembrarem! Temos somente uma performance e a canção caiu no esquecimento total. Com um videoclipe belíssimo, a balada é uma ótima reflexão sobre si mesma numa situação de vulnerabilidade. Para mim, um dos melhores vocais da Madonna está nessa canção. Ela parece até um ponto fora da curva dentro do álbum “Erotica”, mas é um bom momento de reflexão em meio a um disco tão poderoso.

5. Take a Bow (Bedtime Stories, 1994)
Essa não só é a melhor balada da Madonna, como também é a maior “sofrência” que ela produziu. Com um instrumental belíssimo e melancólico, a cantora manda o boy embora através de ótimas analogias teatrais. O meu maior sofrimento como fã é a canção nunca ter sido agraciada como um live fixo em alguma turnê. Na Rebel Heart Tour ela até chegou a relembrar a música algumas vezes, mas ainda assim foi um tanto improvisado e não correspondeu à grandiosidade que a música possui. Por aqui, “Take a Bow” não só é valorizada, fechando o nosso top 5, como sempre é ouvida. Por falta de streaming, a canção não “morre”.

4. Deeper and Deeper (Erotica, 1992)
Misture disco, plumas e paetês. E se ainda estiver achando pouco, ponha um break flamenco com direito à castanholas. O que é “Deeper and Deeper”, amiga/os? Assim como a primeira colocada desta lista, ela é uma música que me desperta várias sensações e eu não consigo descrever muito bem. É uma canção feita para se jogar na pista e curtir plenamente. É a melhor música disco da Madonna!

3. La Isla Bonita (True Blue, 1986)
Preciso confessar: “La Isla Bonita” já foi minha música predileta da Madonna. Lembro-me que quando me tornei fã dela, há mais de 10 anos, uma das primeiras performances que vi foi o live dessa canção na Confessions Tour e foi amor à primeira vista. Por sinal, digo sem peso na consciência: todas as performances de “La Isla Bonita” são ótimas! Até hoje eu não sei escolher qual é a melhor. É uma das poucas canções que ela nunca errou no momento de levá-la aos palcos. A pegada latina, além de sensual, é uma delícia. Foi a primeira de várias outras canções latinas que a Madonna, com sucesso, criou.

2. Vogue (I’m Breathless, 1990)
Inspirada no voguing criado nos bailes gays de Nova York dos anos noventa, “Vogue” é uma canção elegantérrima e que “exala” muito empoderamento. Essa talvez seja a música de maior impacto cultural da Madonna e é, inegavelmente, um hino LGBTQ+. A canção tem tantos versos icônicos que foi complicado escolher aquele que mais me agrada. O refrão é empolgante, o “rap” contendo estrelas de cinema das décadas de 1920 à 1950 é soberbo e os primeiros versos são poderosíssimos. Sou categórico: qualquer seleção das melhores músicas da Madonna para ter credibilidade tem que ter “Vogue” em seu top 10. A canção é essencial a qualquer pessoa que queira conhecer a carreira da Madonna ou simplesmente que queira saber o que é música pop.

1. Like a Prayer (Like a Prayer, 1989)
“Transcendental”, esse talvez seja o melhor adjetivo para descrever a melhor música da Madonna. A faixa-título e o primeiro single do quarto álbum da artista é um pop-rock-gospel maravilhoso! É a Madonna em seu melhor! Muitos fãs talvez achem clichê essa escolha, alguns até reclamam da presença da música nas últimas turnês da diva — alegando que há outras que poderiam ser cantadas — , mas por aqui ela não perde o folego. A cada apresentação, a canção reitera o lugar que ocupa com louvor: o de um clássico da música pop. Catártica, “Like a Prayer” foi um 1º lugar fácil de escolher. A música me transporta a lugares difíceis de descrever. São questões sensoriais. Os primeiros acordes da canção já me fazem gritar “QUE HINOOO!” e me fazem, como disse no início, transcender.
